    further information

    Hello BPA,

    thanks for your help. As you can see (post 1) I have found a way to get FLAC files downsampled to MP3 with tags. This is only needed for downloading the music to my mobile phone (to save space).

    But maybe you can find the reason for the strange thing if I add the flc ogg * * rule.

    Code:
    flc ogg * *
    	# FB:{BITRATE=-B %B}T:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=--resample %D}
    	[oggenc] -Q -q$QUALITY$ -o - $FILE$
    Players:
    Squezzebox 3
    Squezzelite squeezelite1.8.7 -o iec958:CARD=SB,DEV=0 -n wohnzimmer -a 80:16 -r 96000 -z -s serverip

    Musikdownload to mobile phone:
    Squeeze Comander (Android App)

    Converting files:
    convert.conf
    custom-convert.conf => for PlayHLS
    custom-convert.conf => for PlayWMA
    custom-convert.conf => for convert to OGG and play Real

    Problem in a nutshell:
    normal way of logitechmediaserver:
    convert.conf rules:

    flc mp3 * *

    flc flc * *

    transcoding from lossless (like flac) to lossy format (like MP3) happens only, if the player is unable to play flac.

    after adding the ogg converting:

    flc mp3 * *

    flc ogg * *

    flc flc * *

    the last nativ rule flc flc * * will never be used any more, It seems to be gone, but as you can see here (mozilla.pdf), it is activated.

    Thats the thing I do not understand.

    Has someone else added a flc to ogg convert rule?

    Thanks for any hints.

    I don't think you answered my question - what is the client and mode being used to process the files : "I" or "F" ? Telling me the name of the app such as Squeezecommander does not help ! The client/protocol and mode determines which rules are are valid and can be applied (i.e. some rules may be applicable and so may appear to disappear! for example your "flc ogg" rule does not support "I" mode)

    edit:
    I've reproduced the issues - I'll look into it later.
