    Player pictures

    Hi!

This a totally cosmetic and useless feature but how do I change the player picture in Player Basic Settings to something more suitable? For instance for a piCorePlayer?

    Yes, Photoshop

    Lounge - RPi 2/Max2Play > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5
    Dining Room - Boom
    Garage - Radio
    In car - LMS 7.9.1 > RPi3/Max2Play/Access Point plugin > HiFiBerry DAC+ > car's hifi (files on a 2TB portable USB drive)
    Spares - 1xTouch, 1xSB3

Right now LMS is using the model name as reported by the player. And
that's currently the generic "squeezelite" name. If an icon of that name
does exist, then it's shown. If not, LMS falls back to using the
    softsqueeze.png file.

So... you could save an icon of your choice as
HTML/EN/html/images/Players/squeezelite.png, and it should be shown. As
this image does not exist by default, it could even survive a LMS update.

Looks like Squeezelite declares itself as type 12 (squeezeplay) with a Model= of "squeezelite"
So it is the Model= name that appears as the "Player Type" field in the screen captures.
The Model Name is configurable (-M) in Squeezelite ... but that is shown as the "Player Model" in the screen captures.

I assume that it is the "Player Type" that is used for the image file name ... so perhaps Squeezelite could make that configurable as well - or LMS could look for "Player Model" for image as well.

I think that it would require a software change to Squeezelite or LMS before you can do anything as easy as type a preferred name etc.

Correct. This could be a simple plugin overriding getPlayerIcon here:

    https://github.com/Logitech/slimserv.../Basic.pm#L223

Could be based on MAC address or the like. Eg. the Raspberry Foundation
    uses B8-27-EB - if you're using the built-in interface...
