Logitech Media Server 7.9 is out!

    > OK, fine. That's what I hoped. Let me just for the record, mention that

Well, if you install a nightly build, then you'll get nightly builds.
It's the idea of nightlies. If you don't want this behaviour then either
turn off automatic updates (which I wouldn't recommend in general), or
stick with the stable build. And that's exactly what this 7.9.0 release
is for: stay stable. Don't update daily.

Avast Antivirus insists Windows installer is infected

Also a great thank you from here. Unfortunately, I am unable to download neither 7.9.0 release nor 7.9.1 nightly from downloads.slimdevices.com. Avast under Windows 10 reports file infected with Win32:Malware-gen (whatever that is) and blocks download. If I download under Linux and port the files to my Windows PC, it gives the same kind of message. I assume it is a false positive, but is there a way to tell Avast that this is safe to download and install? I guess other users must be affected as Avast is a rather common antivirus program.

I downloaded when it was first released and had no trouble with Avast. Tried again after seeing your post and got your same error. Went to virus chest in Avast, right clicked file and submitted to the virus lab. You can exclude it using that same right click menu. Hopefully Avast will correct this now that it's been submitted.

I just downloaded and installed the 7.9.0 version, and no trouble with Avast any more, so this problem has apparently been solved. Again, thanks for your help.

eset is reporting it as a variant of Generik GMJADYZ trojan and deletes the download before I can open it. I have reported it to eset.
