Nevertheless there will be an update as LMS tells you. To update you'll have to go via SSOTS again.
    Thank you!

Logitech Media Server 7.9 is out!

Yes, iTunes can do odd things. Right click the iTunes data file and
select "Show content" or similar (in Finder). From there launch a search
for XML files. What would it find?

Short Version: I think I fixed it! With your help, of course, and a good guess on my part.

Long Version: In trying to figure this all out, I added song#18 to the PSA playlist and 3 different new playlists to iTunes but none of these played in my Squeezeboxes. Every time I did a rescan, the playlist import results only showed the original 178 playlists and PSA only played the original 15 songs.

You told me to search for XML files in my iTunes folder and found two of them: #1 was "iTunes Library.xml" last modified today and #2 was "iTunes Music Library.xml" modified Dec 13, 2016. I took a wild chance and moved #2 to the Desktop (as it had not been modified in 4 months), did a Restart, and then a Rescan. Now the rescan showed 181 playlists imports (!!!!) and my Squeezeboxes play these three new playlists AND all 18 songs in PSA. WOW!

Never could have done this without your help! THANK YOU!

Only one more question - is it safe to move this #2 xml file last modified Dec 13, 2016 from the Desktop to the Trash? I guessing OK...

    Thanks again!

Update: I moved the #2 xml file to the Trash (but did not empty it) and deleted 2 test playlists. I did another rescan and everything showed up perfectly - 179 playlist imports and PSA still plays the way it should. Obviously, LMS was reading the old xml file and that is why every rescan never included additions/changes to iTunes.

I am a big hero now only because you took the time and trouble to help me - you cannot imagine how grateful I am!

Excellent! I could probably improve the logic to cover for this problem.

Yes, those files are created by iTunes automatically, whenever they need
to be updated. And the old one, well, is no longer being used anyway.

I emptied the Trash with the old #2 xml file in it. Gone.

    Thank you again!
