I'm using 0.51.2 and it now seems to hang the whole Squeezebox Server everytime if I am trying to seek within a song/video. I tried turning the debugging up etc, but there seems to be nothing helpful in the logs. Every seek basically hangs the application. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be operating for some reason. Per my signature the system is a Vortexbox running Redhat Linux at Fedora 20 Heisenbug. AFAIK it supports SSL but the VB forum is down, so can't ask them a question - maybe related. EDIT: no, Fedora has SSL dependencies installed/latest version.

It has sort of connected to my YT account and brings up some (very old) "recently played" tracks, but won't play them (goes to 0:00 and starts counting up anywhere between 1 and 5 seconds before giving up trying).

The URL or video ID thing just hangs.

It brings up my subscriptions and playlists no problem but won't play them. If I click on a subscription in my list, "Jonathan Pie" for instance, no drop down list of JP videos appears. The play icon at the side of the subscription does nothing.

None of the searches work if you type something into the search box.

Video categories and Guided Channels don't come up with anything.
I have latest version installed (0.51.2)

The plugin doesn't seem to do anything - searches, playlists, subscriptions (lists top level ones but doesn't bring up a list of videos), categories. Nothing, nada, just hangs on a blank screen.
VortexBox 2.3 (Fedora Rel 20) on old Celeron laptop with mounted 2TB drive. 2 x Squeezebox Touch, one on Yamaha YSP1000 soundbar with XLS300-PR sub, one on Naim NAIT 3R with B&W P4 speakers both of 1998 vintage. PC desk using server's built in VB (Linux Squeezlite) player, 2 x Android TV boxes with option to run Squeeze Player, various Android tablets and phones with option to run Squeeze Player.

    ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

Without Perl-related SSL libraries (not only OpenSSL), it cannot work and/or you might still have a problem with your API key. Make sure you've followed precisely the procedure. I think somewhere in this thread, there was some discussions about VB 2.4 being a better base, but I'm not sure. Other that that, you have to active info log for YT plugin and post log here (obfuscate your API key)

    Hi Phillipe

    I've installed the plugin (v0.51.2)

    Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Tue Mar 7 09:24:42 CUT 2017
    Hostname: DESKTOP-APU7S1J
    Server IP Address: 192.168.123.104
    Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
    Operating system: Windows 10 - EN - cp1252
    Platform Architecture: 8664
    Perl Version: 5.14.1 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
    Audio::Scan: 0.95
    Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
    Total Players Recognized: 2

I have generated an API key and enabled it, when I view the API dashboard it is reporting requests but each one is returning 100% errors 'Client errors (4xx)'

The Google Dashboard seems to have changed since your original instructions on page 1 but I'm pretty sure I did the correct thing.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

The YT key managemt UI has changed, you're right so I did update a bit the 1st post of this thread, but I've not seen anything special to enable that would explain why your key does not work following the default screens. You can either activate the "info" level of the YT plugin and post the result here (be aware that you key is in the log) or PM me either your key or the unmodified log and I'll have a look

Just installed this plugin, thanks for your hard work. FYI there is one extra step that is not covered in the instructions. Along with creating the project etc, you need to "enable API" from the API manager https://console.developers.google.com/apis/api/youtube/. I think I had to select "YouTube Data API v3" and then click "Enable". I'm guessing that youtube changed it so that the API is not automatically enabled when you create it.

    Hi guys,

I installed the plugin an did all the mentioned steps.
The plugin is working until I want to start playing a stream. Searching and my playlists are working fine.
SSL is installed, API is activated, API and OAuth Keys done.

I'm getting a message on my player indicating connection problems.
Futhermore I'm getting the following log. Is that helpful?

    Any idea?

    Thanks!

version 0.60.x - help to test appreciated

Hi - I just finished rewriting an important part of the YouTube plugin, mainly the way streaming and file parsing were done. I removed a lot of goofyness that I did at the beginning and it's now better using LMS services (HTTPS) instead of re-inventing the wheel in some cases. Basically, streaming is now done in independant chunks instead of a single big stream with keep-alive of the HTTPS connection. It solves the case where a file was paused for a long time and connection would then be closed by the server. I also noticed recently that under Windows the connection was dropped for no reason from times to times, causing the plugin to lock-up LMS.

I would really appreciate if some could help me testing & validating these changes. It's available on the developement repository

OK I will give it a try. I have http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...44/repo-sf.xml enabled in additional repositories. Do I have to uninstall the stable version? Will it keep my settings on reinstall?

You don't need to remove the current version, it will offer you an update under the dev repository once you've added it to the additional repositories list. All settings are preserved. If you want to roll back, just un-install the plugin and remove the dev repository, the "stable" version will automatically be offered again
