In Chrome you can use the javascript url as a start up page. The pop up blocker in Firefox wont let you.
    Hi d6jg

I did try that but did not work for me, just got a sidebar in firefox.

Not to appear ungrateful for the tip but I did'nt really want it anything to do with firefox

When you "close window" on your Firefox icon in task bar you don't kill the gui as the "Webapp" has its own icon.
You do not have to search through lots of tabs or browser windows to get back to the app, just click the icon in the taskbar.
    Can run "on startup"
Has no clutter from browser etc.
However I would like to try it, if you have any idea why you url did'nt work please let me know

Try it with Chrome as a secondary start page with this slight modification

    javascript:window.open('http://10.0.0.3:9000','"LMS"','status=no,location=no,resi zable=no,width=1200,height=600,left=508,top=122'); void%200

So that Chrome opens say Google and this

I use Firefox as my default browser so firing up Chrome and then closing the main instance but not the LMS window works well as it gives you a dedicated LMS window on your Taskbar.

Using my example above this is what you should see when launching Chrome - easy enough to kill the Google window

    Hi D6jg

Ahhh Now thats a great idea !

I did get it working in firefox but accidentally closed it, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

With your clue I had a play and made a slight alteration which may help you !

Create a shortcut to chrome in "App mode"

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --app=http://linuxserver:9000

    adjust for your server.

Even comes up with the LMS logo in the task bar, does all that I wanted !

    Viola !!!!!

Thanks very much for your help

Brilliant and I note that the "app" remembers the window size & position

I had assumed that it was grabbed from the webgui, I have not had any trouble with it though

I did download a png and convert it to an icon for the shortcut but I have only just done this.
I tried to upload the icon but it is not a valid file type for upload.

    FYI

    I also tried "Kiosk" mode :- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk http://linuxserver:9000
this even removes the border BUT only seems to work fullscreen

The icon disappears for a while sometimes and is replaced by the standard Chrome icon.
So I have replaced the shortcut icon with "mypage.ico" and pinned it to taskbar.
mypage.ico (screenshot attached) on my LMS install is at
    /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/HTML/EN/html

Theres some sort of weirdness here !

In order to test your problem I just did a restart, before doing this I moved the icon (LMS) I was using for the shortcut.
After a reboot the shortcut had no icon (expected) but when I run up the "App" it had no icon in the taskbar either !
I replaced the icon in the shortcut and now all is fine again.

I do not know where chrome got the icon from in the first place, I have no server on my windows machine for it to get the icon from so I thought it got it from the (linux) server.

The evidence now suggests it's and either/or with shortcut or webgui
