    Squeezebox Touch replacement power adapter

Yes, digikey is where I buy mines. Sorry about eBay, I thought they would be available there as well. The country 'heads' plug on the U.S. head pins once folded back. I'm surprised when you say the 2.1 does not work because this is what I found is the most common and I thought Logitech was that. I can check them with the touch next week (I'm not home now)

Hum. Ok. I was going by philippe_44's specs. I can confirm (after doing some digging) that it's 2.5mm and not 2.1. In that case, digikey does not carry it.

The only vendors I can find are:

    http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/345-...er-5V-12V.html

    http://www.ariic.net/phihong-5v-3a-a...0p-p-2285.html

    http://poweradapter.co/phihong-psa15...mm-p-3839.html

I have no idea if any of them are legit. Of course, one can always get a 2.1 to 2.5 adapter...

Isn't this the right one at digikey ? http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...NR2-ND/3061250

[and I was able to check on another touch, so yes it is 2.5mm ... bummer]

    Why?

Why not? We know it's a proven adapter. IE: It doesn't run hot, or melt, induce noise (well, not perceivable), or kill your Touch.

This is an interesting video. It makes me wonder if the latest PHIHONG adapters are as good as the ones included with the Touch...or the ones sold by these 'unproven' vendors are even genuine.

A relatively safe alternative is to go to a reputable electronics supply store, e.g. Maplin in the UK, and buy one of their PSUs that come with a set of interchangeable heads. (Maplin often have them on offer).

Of course, it has to be the correct voltage, and able to supply at least the same (or more) current as the original (5V DC, 3A for Touch).

They are often cheaper than the original/OEM part, which can be expensive from these online suppliers, esp with shipping.

    Here's one that I've bought a few of: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-36w...r-supply-l48bq

it's often on sale for less than that, which makes it worth considering.

It comes with heads including ones suitable for SBR & Touch, and is powerful enough for the Touch.
