Latest BBC Radio 3 HD URL?

The BBC have tried to reinstate a BBC Radio 3 HD stream:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/internet/...6-723303f2887e

The new URL, which I tried to add to "Favourites":

    http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediasele...adio_three.pls

It barfed. Anyone got this to work?

Works for me as does HLS stream via PlayHLS & iPlayer plugin mods.

That URL is geo-locked so you would need to be in UK

Are you using LMS or MySqueezebox.com? It is definitely OK via LMS.
Geo-blocking is IP based and can be wrong if your ISP bought a block of IPs from abroad.

    MySqueezebox.com

The old hd steam worked fine for years.

I think it's highly unlikely that my isp would start using foreign IP blocks at precisely the same time as the bbc introduced the new stream.

Has anyone got this stream working with MySqueezebox.com?

I don't really want to mess around with LMS - I have a Chrome box and a usb dac that might be my best route now - I can play the radio 3 stream from the radio 3 web page in hd.

    This is still broken.

Anyone got "radio 3 hd" working again using a mysqueezebox.com favourites URL?

IIRC When the BBC reinstated the HD stream they said they had also done a better geo-ip mechanism as the old mechanism they used with the WMA stream was very "costly". So I think you have been caught by the new mechanism and so you should report the issue to your ISP.

The workaround for the WMA URL required getting the actual URL to be played and not the playlist URL.

Below is the playlist URL - a UK listener will have to provide the URLs that are inside this playlist for the workaround to be possible

The workaround (and only for mysb.com) is to add "#noslim=1" to the end of the radio URL of the station to be played and the modified URL saved as a Favourite..

The BBC don't think so otherwise you wouldn't get a 403 Forbidden message (I get this message trying to play the r3 HD URL as I am outside the UK) . I believe the BBC have additional measures in place such as to try to catch users using VPNs who are not in the UK but "pretend they are" and simple geo-ip tests like iplocation.net says they are.

The 403 Forbidden error means accessing the page is "forbidden for some reason".

Here's an interesting web page giving a systematic approach to these errors:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findby...a/403error.htm

I'm still at step 5: "Contact the [BBC] website directly. It's possible that the 403 Forbidden error is a mistake, everyone else is seeing it too, and the website isn't yet aware of the problem."

No one else in the UK has said the following works, or does not work, on a Touch using Favourites at mysqueezebox.com
