Improving the quality of metadata
As a current LMS (and former Roon and before that LMS) user I've found that the quality of metadata directly affects how I can interact with my music collection. Roughly 8 years ago I started importing my file based metadata into a SQLite table and coding a bunch of SQL queries to improve metadata quality....Last edited by audiomuze; 2024-03-25, 05:57.👍 1 -
I don't name the main-genre first, I've effectively merged their genre and style lists so https://www.allmusic.com/album/lte3-mw0003469806 would have Jazz, Pop/Rock, Fusion & Neo-Prog as genre entries. I've not used mp3tg in years, but I'd be gobsmacked it it didn't allow a user to write any arbitrary tag to any file type except perhaps .wav. I've used the same tag names across all file types (mapped to the correct tag where appropriate, or otherwise just added a tagname) and I've not seen LMS or...Leave a comment:

I've got an extensive library, with MBIDs embedded in a fair proportion of tags (if fact I've made a point of embedding as many MBIDs in my tags as I can programatically match against a download of Musicbrainz' database) and I don't think I'm experiencing the issues you're describing. Neither are intended to be in lieu of Version. They relate to discs (discsubtitle) and tracks (subtitle).
