Radio Paradise 192 mp3 stream

I'm listening to RP at 128mp3 and have added the 128AAC and 192OV streams to mysqueezebox favourites (but haven't listened yet).

To complete the comparisons I wanted to add the 192mp3 stream but after clicking Add it doesn't show in the list.

Never had a problem adding stations to the list before so what am I doing wrong?

I've been a SBT/VBA user for 2.5 years and have never experimented with "Volume Adjustment/Replay Gain". I have had this set to "No Volume Adjustment". Does using Smart Gain or the other settings have any affect on SQ? What are the pros and cons if any?

Power supply lead extension?

I would like to mount my SBT about 2 metres (6 feet) away from the nearest wall power socket. I would prefer not to use an extension lead between the wall socket and the power pack. Anyone have any thoughts on extending the lead between the power pack and the SBT?

How do I keep connection to ReadyNas and to mysqueezebox touch simultaneously?

I am running 2 SBT units which connect via wi-fi to my ReadyNas server running LMS v7.8.0 (just upgraded from v7.7.2 today, problem exists with both versions) and it works like a charm except I have to tell the SBT to connect to mysqueezebox server whenever I want spotify, pandora, etc. It then disconnects mysqueezebox.com if I enter "my music" as it instantly connects to ReadyNas and dumps the mysqueezebox.com connection. Very clumbsy to operate. Should I be able to keep both connections live so that I can change from one to the other easily? I am using SqueezeCommander app on my androids and I am unable to control this remotely, have to go to the device itself.

Happy Memorial Day long weekend to the American friends!

Gonna go on vacation with the family to San Diego next week so hoping for some nice sun, heat, good food, etc... compared to Vancouver (not bad, just not hot enough for me this time of year!).

Anyhow, another blog dropping before I head off this weekend... Hey I like software, GUI, features, etc. Just don't tell me "bit-perfect" sounds different! :-)

DNS problems preventing server from connecting to scrobbler for last fm

I'm running xubuntu 13.04. I've had this problem several times before, on different flavors of ubuntu/xubuntu, and the only fix I've ever gotten to work has been to reinstall the server.

These errors are appearing in the server log:

Anyone else seen this? Anyone else got any ideas about what I can do other than reinstall for the nth time? I've tried clearing my dns cache with this command: sudo /etc/init.d/dns-clean start.

Possible to revive bricked Squeezebox classic?

Your biggest hope is that it is the wireless card holding it down. It's a
very (if not the most) common failure for the wireless card to either just
need a reseating or have failed keeping it from booting further. A common
tell-tale of that is that they don't do anything but their toslink ports
are lit up. In this state one can dismantle it, remove the wireless card
and either replace it or used it wired. This is the exact same way the
wired only SB3's were sold from the factory. Other common failures are the
external power supply and some caps failing inside that are well
documented. If it is none of those things and a full Xilinx reset does not
do it, you probably really have something difficult to fix.

Hi community,

for a couple of days I have a weird problem and don't seem do be able to find the reason.

I'm running LMS 7.7.2 -r33893 on Win 7 for a while (2-3years, same machine) now, and things went smooth until recently. The machine is not a dedicated server - it is used for various things and every once in a while I install or remove software. I can't tell if the mess began with a change of the system.

Here is what happens:

Whenever I start LMS everything is nice at first - but after a couple of hours (2 - 24h) the same scenario starts. It begins with a line in the sever log saying that LMS is "Unable to get players":

(here a fraction of the log is shown: Server start yesterday evening 21:15h, the problem began today at 16:19h)

You can see, that after an initial phase of longer intervals between logs, it quickly converges to a state of one log statement every minute.

As soon as these messages start, LMS is not accessible anymore through players or WebUI.

Now things get increasingly worse and approx. two hours later, most messages end with "Too many open files"

If this state is reached, the control panel is also kind of dead.

I always run LMS as Administrator (run as) - and also installed it as Administrator (I reinstalled yesterday).

I made the observation, that this behaviour is caused by (or it causes) a wildly increasing number of TCP connections innitiated by LMS.

During the "Alive"-period there are something like 10 TCP (~ 2 per SB) connections from LMS shown in the Windows Ressource Monitor.

In parallel to the suspicious logging this number increases quickly and reaches amounts in the thousands.

Following the first bunch of connections as shown in the ressource monitor (TCP connections status page)

In total there are 17xx lines like this - all but the Remote port are identical. It seams like LMS is probing the full range of possible ports ...

If I stop LMS, the number of connections decreases to the expected number dependent on the other running processes.
If I restart LMS, LOG is silent for 5min, but the number of LMS TCP connections _immediately_ starts to go up

As LMS restart did not really help, I rebooted the router. And things look slightly better:

After subsequent LMS launch, the TCP connections do _not_ go up - at first ... But after ~20h the whole thing starts from the beginning: Log and TCP connections start to go wild.

Is the router broken? Does LMS kill the router? I can not tell. The scenario is independent from the firewall being on or off.

Any suggestions from a network guy?

I googled for the error messages again and again, because I thought i can't be the first who encounters that. And indeed I found a few posts with similar messages - but unfortunately, nowhere a solution was found.

Any suggestions? Help is urgently needed as LMS is not usable at all ...

Try using "\@" instead of "@" alone in that change.

No. You would have to put your real username/password there.

help with LMS and Softsqueeze connection please

I have just downloaded LMS 7.7.2 and it installed fine and connected to my SB3 no problems.
Then I installed softsqueeze 3.9b2 and it installed no problem.
However when I open softsqueeze I get the message
"connection failed check server settings"
I'm not sure where to look and what the server settings should be....

Could someone point me in the right direction please ??

LMS 7.8: internet radio search

I'm not sure. Is this a bug or a problem with my instance of squeezebox server. I've upgraded my LMS to 7.8.0-1368712274 version. Everything is fine, but internet radio search always searches for the string "{query}" instead of the query entered by me. Therefore I always get the same search results.
I use the web page for searching with the default template. The server is installed on NAS Qnap TS-109II.

Any suggestions?

Second project with the Community Squeeze

This is another update on my adventures with the Wandboard and the Community Squeeze. I have a first project (still ongoing) that is documented here: http://www.communitysqueeze.org/imag...p#Pascal_Hibon

Due to the fact that the Community Squeeze is working great I got some ideas for two other projects for this player in my house. Both of these projects require a Squeezebox that will be mounted behind the sealing driving in-ceiling speakers through an amplifier which also resides behind the ceiling. The Community Squeezebox needs to switch the amplifier on and off based on the power state of the player. So there was a need for a bit of additional electronics and a custom Lua script. The Lua script is driving GPIO_19 on the Wandboard. GPIO_19 simply drives an SSR (Solid State Relays) which powers the amplifier on and off. Below are some pictures of the project:

I use a 3.5 mm stereo jack for the trigger output. The two resistors and the transistor are soldered around the jack connector:

For those of you who are interested the schematic is attached. And I�ll post the Lua script and some documentation to install it in a later post. Maybe JackOfAll can put it all up on the Community Squeeze website.

LMS 7.8 - loss of radio connections

Would things work again if you restarted LMS? Is that computer able to
access the internet?

This sounds like DNS issues. This can happen if LMS was started before
networking was fully functional.

LMS auf QNAP-NAS kann sich nicht bei MSB anmelden, aber alle Squeezeboxen

Dann macht vermutlich die Netzwerk-Konfiguration deines NAS ein Problem.
Kannst du vom NAS her aufs Internet zugreifen? Was sagt denn die
server.log Datei?

Scan terminates before finishing LMS 7.7.2

I did a clear and scan using LMS 7.7.2 / r33893 on OSX 10.6.8 and it terminates before finishing. I've attempted 3 times and it does the same thing. Should I run a Clean-Up and if so, should I check both boxes deleted preferences and cache folder? Thanks.
