not sure this will help, but when i was looking at BPM metadata i found that
a lot of software breaks the ID3 tag rules. basically BPM is supposed to be
an integer, but some software will store it with up to 2 decimal places. in
this case the "." can screw up some software. maybe that has something to do
with it, but the behaviour you are seeing seems a bit strange. also, i was
told (don't have PCDJ) that it stores BPMs of 127.64 (for example) as 12764
to get round the problem ... but then some other taggers will read this
quite literally as 12764 BPM.
try looking at the BPMs in other apps to see what you get.

Subject: [slim] Strange Tagging Bug
I have discovered a rather strange and non obvious bug in reading tags
from my collection. It seems that if one or more songs in a directory
contains the PCDJ BPM tag set to a value of >000.00 (or I assume >=
null), then other songs with the tag missing (or set to 000.00) will
not have their tags read during the indexing process.
I noticed this when seeing some of my songs not being cataloged, and
rather showed as No Genre / No Artist / No Album. Took me several
sessions to find the common thread between the 20 or so songs (out of
15,000).
Am I correct or crazy?
Thanks for all your help. BTW SqueezeBox + SlimServer has saved me
from CD hell!
