by the way i'm using a midiman flying cow a/d d/a that i bought years ago
for my home studio but it's 24bit burr/brown converters sound great with the
squeezebox and it's pretty cheap. they make a flying calf version which is
just d/a and you can buy them on ebay for under a hundred bucks. make sure
you get the 'newer' 24bit models as the older ones are 20bit.

Everyone has a different interpretation of "cheap", I have a Channel Island
DAC (VDA-1) with a external amplifier (VAC-1) (www.ciaudio.com).
My goal was not prefection, but butter than my adcom CD player with FLAC. I
A/B back and forth and while it was difficult with volume differences I
could not tell the difference.
So it fit my bill.
Good luck... liek any good audio gear you only know if you get one and try
it.

I need a 'cheap' dac to use on a rotel amp to input a pc with only digital
out into both a digital input and a analog lr input
The rotel can only play analog to zone 2
Anybody know of one ?
It needs to convert back to stereo - from the DTS signal
Seen some that convert from a digital to stereo but not dolby also needs to
give me a stereo output ie not lr and center etc
Thanks for looking any ideas would be great email off group if you like
Regards
Karl
