My Duet controller told me there was an update to 7.7.2, which I accepted - it was downloaded and installed, but it then took me straight back to the update screen and forced me to 'update' to 7.7.1 again. As soon as 7.7.2 is installed, it forces me back to 7.7.1 - there doesn't seem to be a way to get away from the update screen without reinstalling 7.7.1.

I checked the server, and it's running 7.7.1, but it tells me there are no new updates - and it's set to auto-update. Is there some way to force an update check?

What's going on with 7.7.2? why does it force me to downgrade to 7.7.1, and why doesn't the server see a 7.7.2 upgrade?

Very confused...

It is a common issue if you connect your unit to both LMS/SBS and MySqueezebox.com.

If you use a local server, you should never have to connect to mysb.com. So you can turn off integration in LMS settings, and never initiate a manual connect to mysb.com.

The newest nightly version of LMS 7.7.2 can be found here (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/index.php?ver=7.7).

Sorry, I didn't follow all of that... I'm not familiar with mysb.com - I'm not aware of initiating any manual connects to it. I pretty much just use the Duet Receiver and server basic menu options.

If I disable the mysqueezebox.com integration setting in the server the player settings won't stay in sync, apparently, which doesn't sound good - I'm just a bit wary of changing the current setup, which has been fine for ages, and usually updates OK - have Logitech changed stuff behind the scenes?

Unfortunately, the link you gave is for beta downloads - now at v7.7.3. I'm after the official 7.7.2 version, but the server can't seem to see it.

If your LMS is running 7.7.1 and for some reason your Duet connects to MySB, it will prompt to update to 7.7.2. Then when you switch back to your local server, it'll prompt to go back to 7.7.1. The official 7.7.2 build can be downloaded from www.mysqueezebox.com/download

It may not sound good, but in my experience it's the exact opposite: mysqueezebox.com integration can make a mess of your player settings. I noticed it especially with alarms. And if, as you say, you don't use mysqueezebox.com, then there is no reason to use the integration, so I doubly recommend disabling it.

Aha! Thanks, installing the official 7.7.2 server build from that link did the trick. Everything now back to normal, and the Duet now stays updated to 7.7.2 :)

Odd that the server didn't pick it up, but anyway, I'm a happy bunny now - thanks again!

OK, I'll give it a whirl - I do use mysqueezebox.com on occasion, but half the time I can't connect to it anyway..

Thanks.

This would indicate a network issue on your end, it should switch between LMS and MySB.com almost seamlessly.

First - I believe this behavior is fixed in the latest version of Jive - part of 7.8. Don't know if 7.7 got fixed.

Second - I believe you need your server to be connected to mysqueezebox.com to make some apps work - podcast is one I'm pretty sure of since the podcast links are specified on the mysqueezebox web page.

Yes but you must have your mysb.com creds in the local LMS server that makes apps works if you use them and enhaance the radio menus (in fact makes them worthwhile) .

But what is optional is to use the settings synchronisation, this is what causes must bugs with alarms etc and setting going awol (probably the preset issue to ) .
So integrate away, but maybe be carefull with settings sync.

I suppose it's possible, although I don't notice any problems with other devices, the network diagnostics pass, and wireless signal shows 90% to 100% most of the time. But it's not really important.
