MP3 Tag Types?

I have many mp3's. MP3Tag extended tag dialog looks like (I'd upload a snip, but the board tells me invalid jpg and png). I have MP3Tag set to read id3v1, id3v2 and APE tag types, set write to only write id3v2.3 UTF16 and to remove id3v1 and APE. Why does the title bar of MP3Tag extended tag dialog show "id3v2.3 (id3v1 id3v2.3)"? Does this mean that there are still id3v1 tags??

yes. If both tags are there, highlight the big red X in the menu bar and given your settings, it will delete the id3v1 tags). Test on a few first, but once you're comfortable, you can load em all up, sort on the tag column, then delete (red X) so that only id3v2.3 tags remain. Easier if you add a column with the following value (right click on column heading, create ne column, name it tag type and use the following as value:

%_tag_read%[ (%_tag%)]

Thanks much! I guess I was thinking that with my settings the v1 tags would be removed if I opened and saved in MP3Tag. Now I know the remove must be explicitly directed. Thanks again.
