Hi,

I am trying to mount the USB harddrive connected to my Squeezebox Touch on my iMac. However, it mounts read-only, so I cannot copy any new music this way. How can I mount it read/write on my Mac?

Mac OS X 10.6.7
Squeezebox Touch Version 7.5.4 r9408

The USB device is properly connected and the Squeezebox Server is running on the Touch. Playback works...

Hope someone can help! A quick search hasn't brought anything to daylight...

Thanks,
matsch

Your USB drive is probably formatted as NTFS. You will need to install a full read-write NTFS driver for your mac such as NTFS-3G from Tuxera (there used to be a free version but I don't see it anymore) or Paragon NTFS.

Hi Nikhil

Thanks for your reply.

The USB drive is FAT32 formatted and it's not connected to the Mac but to the Squeezebox Touch. I use the share drive functionality of the Squeezebox ("Freigabe" in German) to make it available to the Mac via SMB. However, the share appears to be read-only. I am not sure wether it is a Mac or Squeezebox issue. Can anyone confirm (and share) if (and how) it works for you? Is it read/write if you access it from Windows?

Thanks,
matsch

The share is read write from windows or linux, so it must be how the share is mounted on the Mac. Unfortunately I know nothing about Macs so I can't give specific help.

The problem solved itself. I haven't done anything about it, but there were updates on both sides. So one of them seems to have solved the issue. If I would have to guess, I would think the Squeezebox update solved it...

New versions:
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Squeezebox 7.6.0 r9458
