Is there any chance Alien BBC might be available for Windows? I would give
my right arm for this (well OK, a small part of a minor finger maybe). Am I
right in thinking that it's *only* the lack of a recent Windows port of the
Xine libraries that makes the Windows version currently unfeasible?

There is a prototype of alienbbc using MPlayer instead of xine working
on linux. Mplayer does work on windows, so this looks like it might
open the door to a windows version. But, there are also issues
regarding the current implemenation and the lack of 'named pipes' on
windows.
