View Full Version : VU meter/ graphical equalizer
VU meter/ graphical equalizer is it possible on radio? Squeezeplay have these so it should be quite doable on radio. But why haven't anyone done it?
The Radio's CPU is a little anemic to do both audio playback and a visualization as demanding as VU meter. See this thread (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75561), which indicates both the hurdles and the slim possibility that someone might get it working.

I have already done it a long time ago, just install third party Custom Clock applet and select either the "Analog VU Meter" or "Spectrum Meter" styles.
However, as aubuti says the CPU is a bit underpowered so you get moving stuff but it's a bit slow to be completely in sync with the music. So if you just want something moving on the display it works, if you want something that's snappy and completely in sync with the music it doesn't.
