All albums and songs listed twice

For some unknown reason, suddenly the Touch is listing all of the songs,
and albums, on the USB drive connected to it, twice. Only one version of
the song will play, the other will create an error message. Any ideas?
This is very confusing, and the constant tweaking is starting to
destroy my patience for the Touch. I still want to make it work, but
there seem to be so many issues...Help keep my hope alive, please.

One interesting thing that the Touch does is that is lists albums that are in the 'Trash'. If you've deleted a file, it doesn't go away until you've connected the drive to your PC and emptied the trash and this can lead to duplicates when using the Touch with a USB drive.

Don't know if this is your problem but it's one to bear in mind.
