Hi folks,
could someone explain, how the receiver communicates with the Server? For example: If I play FLAC what format does the receiver gets? If it would be FLAC either, the receiver has to decode it?!

Yes it gets FLAC and the receiver firmware decodes it. This is called "native playback".
