To those that have received their new Touch:

Is anyone running direct connect - Touch straight to Amp?

Do you feel the need to run a high quality dac such as Benchmark or better?

Are you having any trouble with gain matching between Touch and amp and using digital volume control in its upper range?

I know there are a lot of variables involved with the gain matching, just wondering what experiences the new Touch owners are having.

Using analog outs, the line level is much louder than other components. I have to set the volume to 75% on the Touch for it to coexist with the signal from my other components.

You did not use the Phono input ? it's very different NOT suitable for anything but a turntable, riaa filters and stuff (wrong freq response) and wrong impedance and to much gain.

Otherwise a pair of Rothwell -10dB attenuators would be useful (I use them all over my hifi)

Or diy attenuators yourself for a couple of cents (it's two resistors they all sound the same).
You also lower the percieved noise.

It's recommended when correcting directly to a power amp practice if the power amp don't have any input level/gain adjustment .
It's very common with to much gain everywhere and to "hot" sources.

Best level off attenuation would be so that 100% volume would be as loud as you ever want to go ( when sober ;) ) but not louder.
