I would appreciate some advice/explanation around the integration between the squeezebox devices and mysqueezebox.com.

We have had a couple of SB3's downstairs for a few years now - very happy with them too. Three new SB Radios have now joined the fold - for the bedrooms.

Is the best practice to set up a new mysqueezebox account for my kids' players, or should they all link to a single account?

I notice that, on the mysqueezebox.com tab rendered on the settings web page, that there is space for a single email address/password linked to the squeezebox server - and an option to keep player settings in sync, or not.

Having just set up a separate account for my daughter (and having received a worrying message saying 'user account already registered', or suchlike), I am now wondering if I've caused a problem.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

I've gone for setting up separate mysb accounts for each of the kids. I've had more time this morning to research - there seems to be limited functionality to support multiple user profiles on a single mysb account - I think I understand now. And I probably should have stuck this post in the mysb section. Apols.

I'm going through exactly the same thing. We added a new SB to the baby's room and my wife setup her own mysqueezebox.com account to go with it. She linked it to our local squeezebox server for accessing all of our ripped music. After a few days it returned the same error message you saw about the account already being registered whenever she went into the Apps folder.

My question to you is how did you get passed making multiple accounts AND connecting to your local squeezebox server?

When your SB players are connected directly to MySB.com then each player can have it's own MySB.com account.

When those same players are connected to SBS then only one MySB.com account can be used.
SBS is limited to a single MySB.com account.

For the player(s) that has a different MySB.com account than is associated with your local SBS you must switch that player back and forth between MySB and SBS.
SBS = local music and basic Internet Radio
MySB = basic Internet Radio and My Apps or subscription services
