View Full Version : Bug: Selecting a station stops SqueezeBox Server
When I try to play "SCFA Control Scanner (Fire)" under Local Stations (local to Berkeley, CA), Squeezebox Server 7.4.1 stops -- and it's necessary to restart it manually.
This happens both from the Boom, and from Web Control. It happens every time.

Any suggestions?
My sbs 7.5 (linux rpm build on 1,2gHz mini-itx) does not crash on my squeezeboxserver .
It works, mostly silence they don't chat that much
It is mp3 CBR should not crash anything ? and no trancoder should be needed ?

What is the squeezecenter running on, what OS ?
Any famous last words in the server.log ?

Squeezebox server is running on Windows XP (with latest updates).
From server.log:
[09-12-13 10:55:56.0472] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1165) Warning: [10:55:56.0468] Perl interpreter failed at /<C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\SQUEEZ~3.EXE>Slim/Utils/OS/Win32.pm line 235.
Oops BUG seems pretty fatal to me , you should report it .
But you have at least narrowed it down to the windows versions .
Edit: Is this with the 7.4.2 ? version
Where can I report this bug?
https://bugs.slimdevices.com/
post the link to the radio station in the bug .
and your exact server version as seen in information tab in settings in squeezeboxserver .
I think this is a variation of 13955 ( https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13955 ) - MP3 inside an ASX playlist doesn't play and sometimes causes crashes.

But in that bug it is the player that crashes ? here it seems to be the server that goes belly up , but you seems to have good technical insights there can be a common cause ?
