Greetings,

My slimserver, the latest update is not saving the library files, or not displaying them between reboots of the server. It also refuses to save playlists from the browser. I am not using a squeezbox...yet!

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Linux RPM 5.2.1-1

It is installed in /usr/local/slimserver

Audio files in /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/audio
Playlists in /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/playlists

/tmp/slimserver.log shows the following entry (when client computer was 192.168.1.31) after trying to save a playlist named Classical-1:

2004-07-10 11:50:52.4489 Could not open /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/playlists/__192.168.1.31.m3u for writing.

/etc/sysconfig/slimserver looks like this:

# Edit this to suit your setup
SLIMSERVER_USER="slimserver"
SLIMSERVER_HOME="/usr/local/slimserver"
SLIMSERVER_CFG="/etc/slimserver.conf"
SLIMSERVER_LOG="/tmp/slimserver.log"
SLIMSERVER_ARGS="--daemon --prefsfile=$SLIMSERVER_CFG --logfile=$SLIMSERVER_LOG"

/etc/slimserver.conf

audiodir = /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/audio
authorize = 0
buildItemsPerPass = 100
cachedir = /usr/local/slimserver/Cache
checkVersion = 1
cliport = 9090

persistPlaylists = 1
playlistdir = /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/playlists
playtrackalbum = 1

Permissions. Make sure /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/playlists is writable
by the slimserver user. The most direct method is to su to root and do

chown -R slimserver /home/2ndDisk/multimedia/playlists
