Hi,

I'm trying to Slimserver 5.1.6 (latest nightly) running on Debian 3.0
(woody) r2, testing. I installed Flac 1.1.0, Oggdec and perl(-base,
-modules) 5.3.8.
First I tried to install the .rpm with alien. This didn't work. Then I
created a slimserver user and put it in the users group. I gave the
users group full control over the slimserver directory and the music
directory (I even tried 777 for both directories and all files in it).
I can start the slimserver (it keeps running) and my squeezebox
(firmware 23) sees it. When I try to play a song it starts and stops
immediately. I tried wav, flac and mp3 files but nothing seems to work.

I have 3 questions:
1. Is there somebody who has successfully installed in on debian and can
tell me how-to proceed
2. Is there a manual???
3. How-to debug my errors (what do I need to turn on and where does it
by default put its error logs?)

Any help is appreciated.....

Jaap
