Hi all
Should the Controller appear under Settings>Information>Player Information?
I've got the red Wi-Fi indicator bug (?) on mine & out of interest decided to check it's Wireless Signal Strength but found that it didn't appear along with the other players.
Is this normal?

If you've enabled Squeezeplay on the SBC, yes, it should show up as a player.

I don't think it shows up otherwise. (Mine is at home and has squeezeplay enabled, so I can see it...)

For whatever reason, though, the SBC doesn't report wireless strength in the information screen even with playing enabled on it.

Under Settings/Advanced, you can enable playback on the controller. (I think this is in 7.3 and later). It's beta, but usually works, making your controller into another player.

(Ie, you can put it in your shirt pocket, put on headphones and go mow the lawn...)

I actually had that enabled snarlydwarf but the Controller has disappeared from the "Choose Player" menu option.
I've rebooted the Controller & it's reappeared & is viewable in SqueezeCenter, however the Wireless Signal Strength is still not displayed.
Also after the Controller reboot the Wi-Fi indicator is now white :-)
Is the Controller Wireless Signal Strength viewable in your or other peoples setup?

Nope, for mysterious reasons, it doesn't.

(Though my guess is that only Genuine Hardware Players do... Squeezeplay is sort of a software player like SoftSqueeze. And since it runs on PC hardware as well, it may be tricky to add it consistently, since it may be hard to get that information on 'normal' platforms. Though would be nice for the SBC.)

Thanks for checking snarlydwarf.
At least my SqueezeCenter is the same as everyone else's :-)
