More customizable display - without SC please

I know the question on how to make the display look like the one on the box (and website) has been asked and answered many times. The problem is that it can only be done if you want to run SqueezeCenter and the plugin.

Are there any plans to make the display more customizable just through SN or the Boom itself?

Might be a good idea to create an enhancement request in Bugzilla to keep track of it. Also means it doesn't get lost in the forum traffic.
