View Full Version : Last 15 secs of song chopped off

I recently upgraded from 7.2.1 to 7.3 and encountered this problem. I upgraded from 7.3 to 7.3.1 hoping that it would be solved but wasn't. It seems that the last 15 seconds of songs I play from my library (iTunes) gets chopped off. I did not have this problem under 7.2.1. When the song gets 15 seconds from the end it jumps to the next song. Is this a bug, a setting, or something I have to change in my custom-convert.conf? My config is as follows:

QNAP TS-509 f/w 2.1.0 build 1202T
SSOTS 3.15
SC 7.3.1
Squeezebox Duet
iTunes music library - songs encoded as aac (m4p)

custom-convert.conf is attached. I think I read that a new custome-convert.conf file is needed with 7.3. Is this true? If so could this be the problem? Does anyone have the new file?

I also encountered another problem today. Twice today the Duet receiver just shut off while playing music. Once I was playing Pandora and the second time I was playing music from my library. The first time the controller would not turn on the receiver. I had to turn the controller off and then on again and then I could turn the receiver on. The second time I was able to turn if on again from the controller by first selecting turn off (the controller thought is was on) and then selecting turn on. Again never had this on 7.2.1. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Don

It seems that the last 15 seconds of songs I play from my library (iTunes) gets chopped off.

I can't help you, I can only tell you that I have the same problem. After getting my click problem fixed and listening through my library I found that some songs get chopped off at the end. It's not always 15 seconds, sometimes it's less, which makes it difficult to say if it's 100% of my AAC-songs or not.
Also I can't tell if the problem first came with 7.3 cause this is the version I started with, never had 7.2.1 and can't find it anywhere for download anymore.

My config:

Synology DS209+ f/w 7.28
SSODS 3.15
SC 7.3.2 (nightly build)
Squeezebox 3
iTunes music library - songs encoded as aac (m4a)

My custom-convert.conf looks the same as yours. Whenever I tried to enter the new options that came with 7.3 the server generates an error that it couldn't build the command line.

So far I tryed the following:

1. Change Transcoding to MP3 and WAVE. Didn't help.
2. Updating to the latest nightly build 7.3.2-24415. Didn't help
3. Play some of the tracks through the Squeezecenter installed on my Laptop (Laptop is my source for music). The songs aren't chopped off.
4. Copy some songs from NAS back to Laptop and play them from there like in 3. The songs aren't chopped off.

Glad that is not just me. For me it is exactly 15 seconds. I watch the time on the controller while a song is playing and when it reaches 15 seconds left it jumps to the next song. On the last song it stops at 15 seconds and the controller shows that 15 seconds are left to play.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried the latest beta (Version: 7.3.2 - 24555) but that is not acting any differently.

I have also tried some updated Apple store "Purchased" (Plus) tracks and they seem to function the same as the "protected" files, cutting 10-15 seconds off the end. My FLAC and MP3 files play back normally.

I am using a QNAP TS-209 Pro, SSOTS 3.15, QNAP Version 2.1.0 build 0904T

Try this custom convert file. It worked for me. It's the same one that is available on this forum but I had to add # F.

Thanks QDon I loaded the custom-convert.conf you provided but it did not work for me. If I were more of a linux-head I might be able to figure it out.

It was definitely the 7.3 update that seemed to cause the problem, it had been working well for months.
