You sure you're only counting music files? Are any of them DRM-infected tracks?

She's asking whether or not any of your files are DRM (digital rights management) "protected". A lot of stuff purchased from the Apple store or from Microsoft has such copyright protection. SqueezeCenter can't play these files, so the scan process skips them.

If that's not it, then

1. Is your SqueezeCenter scan completing? Go to Server Settings > Information, and it should list there the time of most recent scan and whether it completed.

2. How are you counting tracks in your file system? I know that if I simply count the _files_ in my music folder that I have about 20% more files than music tracks, since I also store things like ripper logs and artwork scans along with the album.

My Tracks Are From Either My Cd's Or I Have Got From Blogs, some Of The Extra Files Would Be From Cd Covers But That's All I Have In My Folders.
Thanks

If you're using Windows and your music files are of a few types, then you could get a more accurate count by using Windows Explorer and using the Search function. Right-click the root music folder, select 'Search...', then enter *.mp3 and write down the number of files found. Repeat for whatever other types of music file you have - *.flac, *.wma, *.mp4, *.ogg, etc. Add up the total.

Did you rip any of your CDs with Windows Media Player? Some versions of WMP had a default "protection" setting that effectively rips the tracks with DRM. That would make them unplayable in SC.

What I'm Doing Is Opening My Folder Where All My Mp3's Are For The Sb,then I Select All, Then Click On Properties Which Then Says I Have 7,086 Files In 829 Folders. My Sb Library Stats Say,total Tracks 5,824.total Albums 1,439.
Thanks All For The Help

5824+1439=7263
Sounds about right assuming not every album has a cover image. I bet if you count only the MP3s (using search as suggested) then it will come up as a match.

Hey Greeny,

In return for the useful advice you got, how's about giving everyone a break by keeping your finger off the shift key? Your capitalization habits make your posts pretty tedious, not cute.
