Squeecenter, Internet Radio, Staff Picks and Checking Stream Latency

I just updated my Slimserver install to the latest official Squeezecenter. I added a whole bunch of internet radio stations into my favorites via the "Staff Picks" option. When I move between stations enumerated here, it seems to take much longer than usual to change stations. After changing the display, it takes quite a while while it displays "Checking Stream." I'm wondering if there are any settings that can be changed that will improve the time between switching stations.

The longer delay is due to a change in stream scanning code that was made in 7.1. I plan to look at ways to cut down this delay in the near future, I agree it can be too long in some cases.
