got my duet yesteday and am still gettin to grips with it so Iam reserving judgement at the moment..
I have had a soundbridge for a couple of years but fancied an upgrade...just wondered if someone out there can help me with a problem with the duet which is buging me
i have a large collection of mp3s on an external hard drive they are all tagged correctly ....my double cd albums are tagged so that they appear as one album i.e. not cd 1 and cd 2 ......but on my duet controller because lets say the latest "now thats what i call music" is in 2 seperate folders (cd1 and cd2) it apears as 2 seperate albums , which is kinda bugging me ....they are definately tagged correctly cos they appear as a single album in itunes, winamp and on my ipod......i hope that makes sense thanks in advance for any replies

Under SC->Settings->Music Library->Group Disc should be set to TReat Multible Discs as a single album.

thanks for the reply i have that option "treat multi discs as a single album" selected but my duet still insists in treating double cds, where cd1 is in one folder and cd2 in another as 2 seperate albums .....Ireally dont want to go to the trouble of re-organizing all my collection so all my double cds are in the same folder

The files have to be in the same folder to be considered an album by SC. Without this, SC would treat same-named albums by different artists as all one album.

Sorry it's not what you want to hear...

this is gonna take a lot o work to rectify....seems abit of an oversight in the software..Iam runing a roku soundbridge on my network as well and that ses all my double albums as single albums making everything less cluttered ....begining to think the duet is an inferior poduct to the roku soundbridge

mp3tag will rewrite the file names based on the embedded tags. It'll do an entire directory tree in a few moments - although you'll want to copy a few files and try it first!

If you've ever had albums by different artists with the same album name, you would not see it as an oversight. ;-) Would you want all your "Greatest Hits" albums combined? That is just the most common example, but I have other examples in my library--3 albums named "Stand Up" by 3 different artists.

Anyway, with a good tagging program, it should not take much effort to move the files. I can do it in a few clicks with the one I use (J. River Media Center).

I can see your point Sue .....but i have been tagging my music collection for 10 years (over 3000 albums)and i have always manually tagged them in the same format in the album field for example
" Dido - Life For Rent - 2003 " so the example of same album titles for me does not apply I still think that with a little thought the duets software could get around this after all if you use itunes to tag as many people do who own ipods and have the "keep itunes music folder organised" option selected then you would be in trouble with the duet
for me this has taken the shine off the duet a little which is a shame
