about 50' with signals of 50-60 (up a floor) on the receiver.
I use a Hawkins 15 dbi corfenr antenna on an actiontec router.
I would be intersted in going a lot further. so is anybody successfully uisng repeaters?

What the farthest you have gotten a signal with a Duet?
It might help to clarify which part of the Duet you mean, the Receiver or the Controller. And if you mean the Controller, do you mean for controlling SC or for playback on the SBC itself, which is available in SC7.3?
The other day I was getting dropouts playing FLAC files to my SBC at around 60 feet from the router, including through one exterior wall. It was fine for controlling SC, but the signal wasn't strong enough to keep up with the FLAC, especially when I went to some of the lower parts of the yard, where the house foundation walls might have been getting in the way.
For the receiver, I don't think my house is big enough to determine the upper bound.

The Boom and the SBR have worked at approx 85'. I've never tried farther than that.
The SBC since I've been trying 7.3 has picked up that far and maybe a hair farther.
All three were out side with the router being inside. I can accurately measure it if you want. I'm basing it on my family room being 12' wide, the deck being 15' wide, the deck around the pool being 10', the pool 40' and then where I place the SB's about another 10' from there.
It's almost a straight line and on the same horizon.

BTW, no where near that far once you leave the level the router is on. No problems with the SBR or Boom, but the SBC doesn't pick up that well upstairs. Lots of junk between the router and the bed room.

o.k., I checked it. It's 135 from my Linksys router (go figure) to the end of my back yard. I still had two bars on my SBC!! The router is in the house 13 feet from the sliding doors.
The third shot is the view to my house from where I was standing. The 1st shot is the SBC in the back yard
The 2nd shot is from my front yard. About 80 feet from the router and through the entire house. Still had 2 bars.
Pretty amazing and especially for the SBC. The latest firmware didn't even glitch out there.

Nice "digs"! And people wonder why they get interference from their neighbors ;)

Thanks. Bought my home 25 years ago and resisted ever moving out. Not much out where I live even though it's 25 miles outside of Washington D.C. No water, no sewer, no nothing, but it's peaceful. Really not much by the standards around here where McMansions are the rage.
I'm really surprised by the range of a cheap Linksys router. No extra antenna or anything. I don't broadcast SSID so I doubt my neighbors know I'm even there.
How's your range?? I bet the SBR would get 200' with this router.

I have good range, but how far? Hard to tell. I have a new Netgear N router that sends my G signals much farther than my older G-plus router. However, I ocasionally have trouble in my attic. It's two floors up from the router and the receiver is on the opposite side of the house. Probably about 40-60 feet away, not entirely sure.
Funny thing is, I get basically perfect reception at night, but daytime connections are spottier, almost exclusively when I try to grab music from my PC using SqueezeCenter. I rarely have trouble with Squeezenetwork no matter what time of day it is. Seems strange to me.

Just out of curisoity, which Linksys?

It is a Linksys WRT100.

You could increase the range of your SB receiver by repositioning the dual antenna inside.
I've tried it, and its simple to do it.
Just open up you SB Duet receiver by removing the screws just beneath the edge of the rubber.
You will see the antenna stuck to the PCB with double sided tape.
Just remove the antennas and double side tape and move them to the interior side walls of the SB Duet receiver, away from the PCB grounding.
Check how much improvement you can get by just reading the wireless signal strength of your receiver on your Duet controller settings. You will be suprised how much improvement you can get. :)
and you tot the guys at logitech were good in RF. ha...

I noticed you inserted a headphone or something into the Headphone jack on the Duet controller.
Is the headphone jack working?
Which firmware are u running now?

Running the new firmwares that are in Beta has the headphones activated....working quite well too I might add.
As far as the original topic - I need to measure it for sure, but I think its about 120' or so. I can go to the corner of my almost 1 acre lot with the SBR and still control my music.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. I lost track of this thread. Jonnio pretty much answered it. If you use Beta SC 7.3 you can activate the headphone jack via SBC firmware. Keep in mind it's beta and sometimes you might have a bit of trouble with the SBC firmware. If you're comfortable with rolling back on the SBC firmware, then it seems to work pretty well with headphones. SC 7.3 is a little quirky at times, but nothing that has really bugged me. Others may disagree.
Last night's SBC firmware update was one of those that didn't work well, but that's unusual lately.
BTW, the SBC output is pretty good for headphones, not as good for amping.
