SqueezeCenter/SqueezeNetwork now includes a backup alarm sound. If for some reason the alarm playlist can't be played when an alarm goes off, the alarm will instead use this backup sound. The sound is simply a continous "beep beep beep beep" that fades in (unless you've told it not to) and plays at your alarm volume - it's simple, but effective.

You might hear this sound if, for example, your alarm playlist is an internet radio station but the station is down for some reason. Previously, the alarm would have picked ten tracks at random and played them instead. The new behaviour is more fail safe and also makes it more obvious what's going on.

This change will affect all players, including the Boom. It doesn't affect Boom's built in alarm tone behaviour which is used when it isn't connected to SqueezeCenter/SqueezeNetwork.
