Hi there,

I have a squeezebox classic and a readynas duo NAS drive all connected and talking to each other via ethernet.

When i first installed my readynas duo i copied accross some music into the music folder on the readynas duo and the squeezebox can see and play those folders/albums. However it can't see any music i have added subsequently, no matter how many times i try re-indexing my library.

I run the re-indexing on my pc installed squeezecenter app but i can't confirm that it is re-indexing the music on the nas drive. I have mapped the nas to z drive and have pointed the squeezecenter to that.

I'm running out of ideas with my entry level networking skills.

Have you examined the SC logs? The permissions on the music share is correct?

Check your firewall and antivirus programs to make sure they are not blocking.

Just for my understanding. As you can "see" the older files I guess there is not a network problem, right? It is just that new(er) files copied to the Music folder are not indexed, do not show up, on the SC Artist or Album page.

Are they visible in the "Music Folder" on SC?
If you copy the new music files do you see the older ones in that location?
Do the newer files have the right (the same) format as the older ones?

Indexing log files could be helpful at this point.

Here are more details and see whether anyone can help (forgive me if the terms I used are not very "professional")

The new and old music files are stored in the ReadyNAS under: media\music\iTunes\iTunes Music

I can see both new and old music files when I browse thru "Finder" with my MacBook Pro.

I also installed SqueezeCenter 7.2 in my Mac. I did the rescan using the SC 7.2 installed in my Mac and both the old and new files are shown after the rescan. The re-scan works perfectly using the SC 7.2 installed in my Mac

The problems happened when I do the rescan using the SC 7.2 installed in the ReadyNAS (I open the Radiator, go to Streaming Services, click "Setup" for squeezebox)

My system details:
- MacBook Pro
- Mac OS X 10.4.5
- ReadyNAS Duo
- Squeezebox Classic v3
- SqueezeCenter 7.2

I'm confused. so it works in 7.2 but not in the Ready nas? What is Radiator? Must be out of my league, sorry. It does seem to be your system and not Squeezecenter though. You've checked your firewall and antivirus and called support right? It's free and they are familiar with a lot of systems I think. Give it a try.

You should contact Netgear support for the best answer. They provide support with any issues related to the SqueezeCenter they have on their NAS drives.
