View Full Version : Boom firmware update how to ?
Hello,
Is it possible to check and initiate manually Boom firmware update (like pressing "brighness" on the SB3), or there is only an automatic update mode (like on the SBR) ?
I'm running 7.2 - 23107 nightly and my current SBB Firmware is 32.

Automatic updates only, and the current Boom firmware is 32.

There's no way to disable the auto firmware update like there is in the SB3, but Boom will also respond to press-hold brightness and do a manual update.

Quick question: How do you enable the auto-firmware update on the sb3? I've got one that doesn't have that turned on and I've hunted around a couple of times for the option but haven't found it yet...
Thanks

Just go to the firmware menu (press/hold left) Current Settings->Auto Upgrade

I can't see that option under current settings (7.2 23055)
SB3 firmware - hold remote's left arrow to get back into network setup. Then find current settings of the firmware.

Actually you can disable automatic updates by adding
update.slimdevices.com 127.0.0.1
to your slimserver hosts file. Unless the Boom pulls the firmware directly down to itself, the server will no longer be able to connect to Slims site to get new firmware versions.
Handy if you only want t apply firmware that's been released through an nightly or full release.

When I do this on the Boom I receive the delightful Who Quote:
"Mamma's got a squeezebox, Daddy never sleeps at night" on the Boom display...
