View Full Version : Flight of the Conchords
While I wait for the UPS driver, I'm hoping someone at Logitech licenses "Boom" by Flight of the Conchords for adverstising purposes.

FAST FORWARD SELECTOR!
This is exactly why I've been calling Caleb the Boom King!
While I wait for the UPS driver, I'm hoping someone at Logitech licenses "Boom" by Flight of the Conchords for adverstising purposes...
Why not BOOM BOOM with John Lee Hooker :-)
The flipside worst advertising possible would feature Boom Boom Boom by The Outhere Brothers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBYHiOsjxS8).
And there's always "Boom, Boom, Boom (I Want You In My Room)" by the Venga Boys, which sort of fits with the alarm clock functionality.

But I'm sticking with Bret and Jemaine.
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Boom! Shake The Room (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8snaaMTiVM) - thats just a classic!

I considered posting this, but then thought... they actually want to sell some of these things.
I'm embarrassed to say that this is what came to mind first when I came up with the name:

But this quickly made me forget that:

But at this point, I'm stuck on the Conchords.

Yep, of the selections posted - I vote for the Concords. Hip & Modern.

Definitely the Conchords. That was the funniest thing I've seen for quite a while. I'm laughing now just thinking about it.

It's funny "i'm the BOOM king !! "

I don't see why "we" should have to choose. I like them all. I can see an entire marketing campaign, with different boom themed songs. The bass on the boom means it would work well.
I like John Lee Hooker, everyone knows the Venga boys song, I'd never seen the flight of the Conchords before, but that's good too.
But Dean, there is one small problem with that one. Did you see the guy in the background carrying the sign that says "Boom $24.00"?
That might be a marketing problem ....
And, um, how do I say this without sounding sexist? she's hot? Not to my eyes. I may be old and missing something, but she does nothing for me.
So, is there an admin around who can change Caleb's tag from junior member to Boom King?

You said it.
:-)
Also the video takes the piss out of the perceived lack of your average North American's knowledge of history and any country outside of their own (Vikings from New Zealand etc), which might not go down too well with a large portion of the target market (assuming they don't entirely miss the reference of course).

My first thought on hearing the product name was Pat Travers doing "Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights)":

Though maybe this reference belongs in the thread about using the Boom as an alarm clock... :-)

There's a much better version of this, but I can't find it on youtube, and, for the life of me, I can't remember who it was. Old blues standard from like the 50s.
Another candidate might be Boom Boom by Chayanne (a salsa number)

I wonder if the last.fm integration can be coaxed into playing search results as a station ...

Err, same here. I'm sure she's nice but she's not even cute.
Anyway, given this thread, I have a confession. The bass-heavy track I referenced here:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=335687&postcount=40
is the appropriately-named "Boombastic". You know, that mid-90s reggae/dance track.

Yup. I suddenly remembered it after watching Mr. Bean's Holiday. And you haven't heard that track properly unless you've seen Mr. Bean dancing to it. :-)

Also wasn't there a mid-80s song that went:
"Boom, boom, boom
Let's go back to my room
Where we can do it* all night
And you can make me feel right"
* to keep this forum PG-rated, I'm certain "it" is referring to testing tracks on Boom.
