THis is probably pretty basic,,,,,but when I downloaded Squeezecenter 7, Slimserver disappeared. I went back to the Owner's guide which came with the Squeezebox and it said to go to www.slimdevices.com/download to download the slimserver software, but when I did, I received a webpage cannot be found message. So then I went to Slimdevices and drilled down to support/downloads and the only download was Squeezecenter 7. Did Slimserver get replaced Squeezecenter?
Did Slimserver get replaced Squeezecenter?
Yes. When the software moved from version 6 to ver 7 the name was changed to SqueezeCenter. Same program, same folks writing it, and (mostly) same folks on this forum discussing it.

Just renamed. SqueezeCenter = SlimServer 7.0+. Anything 6.5 or
earlier is SlimServer, around 3.x and earlier was Slimp3 Server.

Does that mean I can remove the Slimserver stuff from my program files? Just for the record..the Squeezebox is heads & shoulders ahead of the 3 Phillips devices that I used to have...much more reliable
Yes. If you are happy with what you are seeing with SqueezeCenter,
there is no need to keep any of the SlimServer stuff around.
Note: if you used third party plugins with SlimServer, you will need
to download updated versions as SqueezeCenter requires a big rewrite
for plugins.

Hey someone else that had a phillips device. It was pretty good but nothing like this. The only thing I liked about it was I could run anything running on the computer through my stereo. Not a big thing but nice when you have websites that have their own players and no way to run them to the Squeezebox. You'll love your Squeezebox. Enjoy

This is exactly what the Wave Input plugin does. It's perfect for sites like Wolfgang's Vault.

That is really weird, I was just thinking about a half hour before I posted, on how to listen to Wolfgang's Vault. I had heard about this plugin but it looked a bit complicated. I just went and looked again and I think I'll give it a shot. Thanks

Unfortunately, there's no plugin to help avoid some of the garbage at Wolfgang's Vault. That's one I would pay for!
The great groups were (usually) great - the others were, well, sometimes quite otherwise. Many gems, and apropos the other thread earlier this week, I have bought some of their material.
I really appreciate that site, however. It's a historical archive for the San Francisco 60s segment of rock. Other than the random boots that float around, and the few groups that encouraged taping (like the Dead), there's nothing else like it. And the sound quality beats most boots.

It's a cheap onboard and It says it needs something fixed when I go into the volume settings on the record part. I'll keep working on it when I get more time.
