View Full Version : Trouble Adding Alias to Music Folder on Mac
Hi all, total newbie. MAC user here. Ive installed SC and it has picked up all the music on my laptop's internal drive. I would like it to read and play music stored on an external drive. The external drive is attached to an apple exterme router.
Ive created an alias but and done a rescan and new rescan but Sc does not pick up the HD? Any assistance would be appreciated. Other then creating an alias im stuck.

Aliases are only supported in the 7.0.1 build - which is not officially released yet. You can still download it and give it a try:

It would be great if you could give this a try and test the alias code.

At present you have to use symbolic links rather than aliases.
Symbolic links are a Unix thing, and can be created using Terminal. But if you don't know how to do that, there are several free utilities that will do it for you. Go to VersionTracker or MacUpdate, search for "symbolic link" and download one of the programs you find.
