View Full Version : SlimServer problem (I think)

When I start SlimServer it keeps saying "SlimServer Starting". is it supposed to be that way?

I can't connect my squeezebox to slimserver and I thought this might be why. either that or I have entered the wrong ip on the squeezebox.
anyway, please help.

I have a WLAN and a router and all that, and i'm using Win Vista.

I checked the "how to install on Vista" on the FAQ page and it says:

"# After the install is complete, you need to manually alter the Slimserver service's Startup types:
go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
# Scroll down on the right side until you see "Slimserver" and double-click on it
# In the properties panel, set the "Startup Type" to "Automatic"
# Click OK
# Now scroll down until you see "SlimServerMySQL" in the list of services, and double-click on it"

the thing is, there is no SlimServerMySQL in that list. how come? what have I done wrong?

Perhaps you could change it's run properties to "run as administrator".
If I remember correctly, I had to do that when I was using Vista.

I'm not a windows user so I can't offer any suggestions. If you can't get it fixed here soon I'd call Slim Devices support. They are usually very easy to work with.

yea, I would, but I live in sweden so that would cost about €1 per minute. I'll just write an email instead.

Totally amazing! I reinstalled slimserver for the 3rd or 4th time and out of the blue.. it's working! Happy!
