Slimserver on Solaris

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I though you need Perl 5.8 + to run Slimserver.
Mine runs on Red Hat, but I've played with it on Solaris 8 with Perl 5.8 and
it was fine. The only reason I went back to RedHat was because I couldn't
get my 250gb HD working with my Ultra5. I've also had it working on one of
my E420's at work (but thats another story.....!!)

Is there anything special needed to get the slimserver running on
Solaris?
It runs for about 3-5 seconds then goes dead, every time you start a song.

Here are some stats.

bragi [/usr/local/SlimServer_v5.0.1] # uname -a
SunOS bragi 5.9 Generic_112233-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2
bragi [/usr/local/SlimServer_v5.0.1] # perl -v
This is perl, v5.6.1 built for sun4-solaris-64int
(with 48 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail)

Slimserver v 5.0.1 Slimp3s running firmware 2.2

SlimServer should work with Perl as far back as 5.6.0, as long as you
have the Time::HiRes module installed.

(Mac OS X pre-10.3 used this version, so we have incentive to keep
backwards compatibility.)
