I've just noticed that I still haven't got Random Play on my Jive, Did we ever figure out why it sometimes wasn't appearing?

I never figured out why it didn't appear on my Jive, but I was running a pretty funny setup. SC was running from c:\program files\slimserver7. I had kept a 6.5 directory and a Slimserver dir with my old 6.3 install.

I just decided to clean all that up and did a fresh install from the Windows 7 nightly installer. That fixed it. Prior to that I had tried recycling the server, clearing the cache dir, full re-scans etc. I'm guessing there a hard-coded path somewhere.


Have you a non-standard setup?

I think the only thing I changed was the file cache directory so I could still run 6.5 if I needed to. I did just notice a jive plugin that hasn't been changed for a while, is that still needed?

no. The jive stuff is handled through Slim/Control/Jive.pm

That would explain what happened in my case. I used to extract the nightly zip over my existing files, and the Jive plugin was left in place.

My current install no longer has the plugin.

Well, I've just proved it. I deleted the old Jive plugin folder, restarted the server and the Jive and it's there. There must be something still using the old Jive plugin even though it's not supposed to be.
