Hi,

Thanks for posting me the jive to trial. In addition to a couple of squeezeboxes I have softqueeze in the loft with a server, which I've attempted to control in the past with a pda, mobile phone, without much success. Now I use it regularly to pipe music to the bathroom.

My thoughts are that the jive menu (along with the SqueezeCentre new default skin) makes the whole system more user friendly. I guage this by wife who has been unable to use the squeezeboxes at all before recent developments.

A couple of suggestions from her, after a couple days of using jive:

When selecting music, it would be good to hit the centre button to play the selected music (you the wouldn't have to move your thumb, its more intuative) Not sure that getting the track's info, format etc is generally useful

A function of scanning the currently playing track would be good , something akin to ipod. So, hit the centre button on a playing track, turn the wheel & the position in the track changes. this is great for recorded shows you may want to have several sittings for.

My own thoughts.. Looks great & I use it all the time instead of the regular remote (apart from during the recent glitch)

Suggestions.. i find myself often traversing menus to go to the controller settings. Shouldn't this be available higher up. Not sure I want to change a server setting from jive, at least not at all often.

Information browser is superb. how difficult would it be to incorporate an authenticated feed eg gmail new atom service?

Keep up the great work.

regards

Waldy

ps what feedback would you like from the bugs we see. eg now playing display doesn't seem to work well, or at all at the moment. What info would be useful to feed back?

If you see a bug and want to report it, the first thing you should do is see if the bug exists already. Sometimes this can be a pain to wade through, but in the case of Now Playing it's pretty easy-- searching Jive Software and keywords "Now Playing" turns up lots of bugs (which is no surprise, because this is probably the least functional feature on Jive right now).

If your bug is a new one to report, by all means open one at http://bugs.slimdevices.com. We welcome the feedback.
