Perhaps I'm stupid.. but where do the various jive logs get stored? Are they in the slimserver logs? or do I need to have an SD card in the remote?

The logs are held in a log dir within the Linux filesystem on the remote itself. Even with an SD card in the slot, the logs don't get copied to it. You need to log in to the remote using SSH to view them.

It would be nice if there was an admin option in the advanced menu to copy the logs from the remote to the SD card?

Is it odd that /var/log is empty on my remote's filesystem? Is there
some secret to enabling logging?
