View Full Version : Artwork broken in r622?

I upgraded the remote to r622 this evening only to find out that it doesn't display artwork anymore.
Tried a factory reset, another software update and the latest SS nightly (2007-10-02) to no avail.
I ended up downgrading to r616 again.

Has someone else experienced this?

I see artwork, but only for albums it has actually played. It sort of acts like a rescan is needed... but the web interface shows art fine.

Artwork was missing from the songs in the playlist. When I cleared the playlist and added the album again, the images where refreshed.

Odd, I can't see any artwork at all with r622. Neither in My Music nor in Now Playing (playlist and screensaver).
r616 works fine.
Do you have artwork when browsing albums?

Can't check at the moment. Only had a quick play with the remote last night. It seems like all sorts of odd things happen when the wireless strength is marginal.

And I've had problems with the Network update when I'm sitting 2 feet from the router, so I'm guessing that the driver for the wireless NIC inside Jive may not be 100% bug free. Not sure what Linux support for wireless NIC's is, apart from the Intel supplied code for Centrino chipsets.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is deliberate. At least the Album list is now usable while they work on some caching.

There is some caching work and communication work going on. but, I found a couple of tweaks to get the initial fetch working again. should be better (still not optimal) for the oct 4 update.

Yes, it's working here with r643, but:

- some images have white borders top and bottom or on one side

- it doesn't seem to pull artwork from directories of albums that are in MP3 form, only FLAC (this is a weird one, I'll update SC and see if it changes)

Really? The problem I seem to be having is it won't read new artwork - anything that was in place for 6.5.4 is fine, where I've added new cover.jpg files won't seem to get pulled in. I am up to r643 now too.

Well, I figured out my artwork scanning problem - with Bill Gates help, I've been a total moron. I hadn't paid attention to the fact that "known file extensions are hidden" so a whole bunch of my cover.jpg files were actually cover.jpg.jpg! Glad I didn't stick it on bugzilla - good luck troubleshooting all the bonehead things I do!
