OK,
I didn't think this would be so hard to find, but I can't seem to find a switch box which would allow me to take my RCA outputs from my Squeezebox and split to 2 outputs with A/B/Both switching capabilities.
I am putting speakers in my bathroom (which is next to my bedroom). I would like to be able to select whether the output goes to the bedroom, the bathroom or both. I got around this issue with my main setup by using the RCA outputs for one zone and the optical output for the other zone.

I don't have any amps with an optical input in this situation which is why I am trying to rig the RCA outputs.

Anyone have any suggestions or know where I can buy a reasonably priced switcher such as I have described?

the simplest solution is two double pole make before break switches , one in each channel....the switch has six connectors the incoming signal is taken to the centre connection as the switch is moved it diverts the signal to either left or right. You switch the signal and signal return ie the left bank of three connections for signal etc.

these can be fitted in a small box with rca sockets

I tried diagramming this with my circuit-challenged mind. I seem to come to a selector where its either on one or the other set of plugs (or off entirely) but not both. Would I be able to pass the signal to both outputs in your scenario?

What type of amp are you using in the bathroom? I think a more common solution is to run the Sb RCA to an amp or receiver with A/B speaker outputs, and control the volume in the bathroom/bedroom with a speaker level volume control in a wall plate, or by using the receiver remote.

If your current amp isn't designed for that, maybe a cheap y cable could feed the second amp, which would presumably have its own switch for when you didn't want sound in the bathroom.

Radio sHack had such a device years ago. At least it was capable of being used that way but required a few additional adapters. The above Amp100 is what I use for my garage and intend to add a pair of outdoor speakers next summer. Be sure to use the second input since it is more sensitive to waking up properly if you were to get it.

oops ...missed the third option ...

try a 6pole 2way rotary switch you can then route the various outputs to the appropriate sockets.
