Ever since migrating to FreeNAS with Slim Server I don't seem to be able to access web based streaming sources. I used to occasionally listen to NPR or one of a few online radio stations this way. Is this typical when using the FreeNAS/SlimServer combination?

The host hardware is a T5700 thin client with 1 GHz CPU, 256MB ram and a 400 GB HD attached via a USB 2.0 port. It boots from a USB memory stick.

Don't you see any radio listing, or doesn't it even work if you paste the station's url in the Tune In field?

Please make sure FreeNAS is correctly configured with DNS and gateway. I remember it sometimes doesn't do this automatically.

Michael,

You are so right about that. It was a missing DNS and gateway settings. It's working perfectly now.

I just love the fact that my T5700 and its attached USB drives draw only about 50 watts in total. The server it replaced consumed 400 watts, generated more head and much more noise.

Many thanks for your work on SlimNAS!

Michael
