Hiya,
I get the impression that even modding a psu could effect the sound comming out the speakers :o
Not being electrically/electronicly minded have not got a clue how, but, for me I noticed an improvement once the Lambda had burnt in for a month.
Any thoughts as to how the above could be modified to hopefully improve the sound further....
Cheers :)

if it's good enough for the transporter, it's good enough for you my friend...
You want the 1995: 'Regulators for High-Performance Audio' articles. Of course to take full advantage of something like that you should skin your SB and separately power the digital and analog stages etc etc thereby torching your warranty.
A lot of people swear by these ....but I recently built an lc audio low noise reg module and yes it sounded great feeding an sb3....but swapping to a simple linear no frills reg module proved to me that the lc module was actually not as good ...for me in this application. Which was a disappointment as the lc units were not cheap. But as with everything what suits one setup may not suite another...you need to try things and see which sounds best to your ears...not your mates !

I have a SB3 and tried to build PS for long ago. First I had tried to listen to the stock components (swapped a Power One PS on ebay) then replaced all the stocks with high quality components but not the ICs. The sound is much improved but do not be fancy it will change the sound the way you do not want to.

Okay,
Cheers!
Not exactly the answers I was looking for;-)
but, I now understand it's like picking out Your own favorite amp, or IC, from a good few different options. Experimentation is the key :)
Thanks again
