Zanzibar

Here's a thread about songs about places, and what the songs portray, against your own personal experience of the place itself. I was recently in Zanzibar, which sounds exotic, and the Billy Joel song which I know was about a bar, rather than a place, paints a picture, but I had a larger vision of Zanzibar than my experience actually delivered because of the song. Sounds silly, and while Zanzibar owes nothing to Billy Joel, nor to me, it affected my experience, not negatively, but in a 'here's the concete truth' way.
Has anybody else had this expeience?
