View Full Version : Radio Margaritaville URL?

Hello, all. My eight year old Parrothead won't be convinced that the Squeezebox is as cool as I've been telling him until I can make it play Radio Margaritaville. Since the listen now link on that site opens an embedded Windows Media Player, I don't see a way to tease out the URL. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

40kbps MP3 stream: http://radmarg.sc.llnwd.net:12105/listen.pls

32kbps WMA stream: http://radiomargaritaville.com/streams/radiomargaritavillehi.asx

The mp3 version sounds terrible for some reason, try the WMA stream
first.

Wow, Andy. Thanks for the quick response! For my own edification, was there some simple way to find those URLs that I missed?

(And you're right about the MP3 stream sounding terrible, but when I try to enter the WMA stream in the Favorites tab of the SqueezeNetwork interface I get an error asking me to enter a valid http:// or mms:// URL.)

The WMA URL is actually listed on their webpage: http://
radiomargaritaville.com/listen_now.htm "Click here to listen the old
way".

D'oh! Didn't catch that. But that link won't work for me as a SqueezeNetwork favorite (or even with Winamp for that matter), so I guess it's a moot point.

(It is buried as one of the URLs in the .asx.)

You could also use SlimServer "Tune in URL" instead of SqueezeNetwork. The Radio Margaritaville URL http://radiomargaritaville.com/streams/radiomargaritavillehi.asx works for me there.

In SlimServer->Server Settings->File Types->File Format Conversion Setup, make sure the "Window Media - Windows Media (built-in)" box is checked.
