I have searched the forum but I cannot seem to find any install instructions for a QNAP TS-201 and SlimServer, can anybody help?

I have just purchased a Ts-201 without any hard drives (as I already had 2 500mb Seagate SATA drives) so it has not come pre-installed with SlimServer from the retailer

My understanding is that you cannot install SS yourself. As with the TS-101, you have to buy a QNAP with SS pre-installed from Progressive Systems or one of their dealers. There is a plan for Progressive to supply a DIY install package (I think it was to cost around £25) but it hasn't been made available yet.

I would strongly advise that you contact QNAP and/or Slim Devices and ask if their conjoined product (i.e QNAP running Slimserver) is supported. If not, I would consider returning the QNAP in favour of a Slimdevices recommended NAS.
