Where does MySQL come from?

Pardon this stupid question from a Linux newbie.

I've got a LinkStation (I) with PPC, and I'm running SlimServer 6.3.1. I'm thinking about updating to 6.5.x. Where does the required MySQL come from? Does it come as part of the Perl .tar file for SlimServer, or do I need to download it from somewhere else?

Don't feel bad, because I'm pretty sure the answer to your either/or question is "yes". I believe some of MySQL comes with slimserver, but because Slim Devices only compiles modules for a limited set of platforms (which doesn't include PPC LinkStations) you need to build them yourself. So that means you need to download various development libraries that work with PPC LinkStations.
